The movie depicts his journey of childhood during the 1950s to the roots of his political career leading him to become the four-time Chief Minister of Gujarat. One of the successful election campaigns in the history of Indian politics headed towards electing him as the Prime Minister of India in the year 2014 is the USP of the movie.

As per the sources, the film has been released in Nigeria on 05 April 2019 and is yet to be released on other countries including India. Seeing the Lok Sabha Elections are ongoing in the country, the Election Commission submitted a report before Supreme Court to not release the movie in the midst of Election process.
The movie is expected to disturb the level of playing field throughout the Election process and so the decision was taken. As per the officials of EC, this movie in not just a biopic but is a movie that idolizes a politician. However, the Supreme Court refused to be indulged in this matter of not letting the film to be released until 19th May when the elections are over.
Movie makers seek permission from the EC whether they should start the movie promotions or not. Earlier the film was scheduled to release on April 11. The recent developments show that the movie will be released once the elections are over. We are eagerly waiting for this movie to be released.
